The Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service has been awarded the National Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC) 2019 Bronze Award for Innovative Management for the "Igniting Insight: Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Analytics in the Fire Service" project.

Deputations

1.

Women's Support Network of York Region

To provide Council with information on sexual violence and its prevalence in York Region, especially given the high profile sexual assaults of young girls in the Region this summer, as well as the services provided by the Network as the Region's only sexual violence crisis centre.

2.

Vaughan Santafest Parade

Requesting continued financial and service-in-kind support for the Vaughan Santafest Parade for 3 years - 2019 - 2021.

Gentile Circle

Mathew Baldassini (on behalf of residents of Gentile Circle) advising Council of the:

1. Lack of maintenance regarding noxious weeds;

2. Piles of dirt and status of their removal (what happens if the dirt is not removed by the Developer by December 31, 2019); and

3. Status and lack of development including non-assumption of Gentile Circle by the City and Phase 2 development including park.

Exorbitant Water Bill - Lucy Kalokina

Advising Council about receiving an exorbitant Water Bill (over $1,800) and requesting Council to adjust their water bill to normal use.
